About LKNOG

Lanka Network Operators Group (LKNOG) is a non-profit, community based initiative to bring the network operators and networking professionals in Sri Lanka together in terms of educational, knowledge sharing and collaborative aspects. The objective of this forum is to provide a local & regional platform to discuss operational issues and technologies that interests network operators in Sri Lanka and in South Asia. This initiative also aim to unearth local talent and resource personnel from Sri Lanka who will be keen to contribute towards capacity building and knowledge sharing activities at large.

Securing the Resource Naming with KINDNS Framework

The Domain Name System (DNS) is a critical part of the Internet infrastructure. DNS translates the domain names of websites and email addresses that people can remember to the IP addresses that computers can understand. It is a large distributed system with many moving parts.
KINDNS is simple framework for stable and secure DNS operations. The KINDNS guidelines are current best practices for DNS operators to improve the security and reliability of their operations.
This hands-on workshop teaches best operational practices for DNS in two days. The workshop covers Git change management, basic DNS server operation and zone file management. We explain how to enable DNSSEC for simple single-zone deployments.

Virtualization

As containerization becomes a cornerstone of modern IT infrastructure, network and system engineers who grasp its fundamentals are better positioned to design, secure, and manage contemporary networks. This is not just about staying current—it's about preparing for the future of networking.
This intensive four-day course is designed to equip university IT engineers with critical knowledge and hands-on experience in containerization, with a strong focus on Docker and Kubernetes. Participants will explore the core principles of container technology, understand Docker's architecture and components, and master Kubernetes' powerful orchestration capabilities. Real-world labs and scenarios will offer practical insights into building, deploying, and managing containerized applications in production-ready environments.

Day 1

Session 1 - intro to linux

Session 2 - linux basics + VM

Session 3 - hands-on Lab with linux

Session 4 - hands-on Lab with linux - advance

Day 2
